This Halloween margarita is the ultimate spooky-season cocktail recipe! Vibrant green from Midori melon liqueur, shimmering with edible glitter, and finished with a dramatic black sugar rim, it's a unique tequila drink that's as eye-catching as it is delicious. Perfect for a Halloween party, scary movie night at home, or adult trick-or-treating.

    About this Spooky Margarita

A couple of my biggest passions are creating easy, crowd-pleasing cocktails at home and putting a fun twist on Tex-Mex favorites. Since margaritas and Tex-Mex food go hand in hand, this drink was bound to happen!

Margaritas are kind of my thing, so much so that this recipe went viral on TikTok!

This is no ordinary margarita - it's a spooktacular sipper that brings a playful spin and eerie flair to any fall happy hour. Think of it as my version of a witches brew cocktail.

It's equal parts fun and fabulous, just like my bright orange Aperol margarita recipe. Plus, it's incredibly easy to make with a handful of ingredients.

While my husband sips on his whiskey Halloween drink, I make myself this Halloween margarita recipe to pass out candy. Boo!

    Ingredients Notes

Whip up this easy Halloween cocktail with tequila using a few simple ingredients. You can see the full list of ingredients and exact measurements in the recipe.

Ingredients needed to make a Halloween margarita include: lime, bottles of tequila, Midori, triple sec, and simple syrup.

    The Secret to Spooky Green

Midori is a sweet-tart, bright green-colored liqueur that tastes like melon. This ingredient is crucial to getting a green margarita.

    Choosing the Best Tequila

I like to use a Blanco tequila for the cleanest flavor and brightest color. Since it's clear color, it's best for showcasing the bright green color of Midori. Reposado or Añejo can work, but may muddy the green tone.

Tequila, along with other classic margarita ingredients like triple sec (orange liqueur), simple syrup, and lime juice create a delicious drink with a spooky twist.

    For the Black Sugar Rim

These black sugar sprinkles add a touch of sweetness and visually make the drink truly look like a witches brew cocktail.

    The Magic of Edible Glitter

This spooky margarita will naturally be green from the Midori, but using a pinch of green glitter adds a touch of magic and really makes it pop!

How to Make a Halloween Margarita

Step 1: Rim a margarita glass with black sugar sprinkles. Start by cutting a lime wedge and running it around the rim of the glass. Pour black sugar sprinkles onto a shallow plate. Dip the moistened rim into the sugar, gently turning to coat.

Step 2: Add a handful of ice to a cocktail shaker followed by Midori, tequila, triple sec, simple syrup, and freshly squeezed lime juice. Next, add a pinch of edible glitter, if your using it.

I shake cocktails for at least 20 seconds to get the drink well mixed and cold. Pour it into the glass and enjoy!

    My Recipe Tips

Just use a pinch of edible glitter, about ¼ teaspoon for one drink. A little goes a long way.

Stir or shake this cocktail right before serving to keep glitter suspended throughout the drink and not settle to the bottom of the glass.

Always use fresh lime juice. Depending on the size of the lime, you will need one lime to equal the ½ ounces of juice needed for this recipe.

Simple syrup is a liquid sweetener. You can buy simple syrup in the store or easily make your own by dissolving one cup of sugar in one cup of hot water on the stove.

Get bonus points for creativity and spookiness by serving this neon green Midori margarita in a fun vessel like a stemmed skeleton glass or clear skull cup.

Can this be made in a larger quantity and put into a pitcher?
If so, how would you adjust the ingredients? Thanks in advance
