    About Me

    Welcome to Happy Honey Kitchen!

I’m Angela, the recipe developer, food stylist, and photographer behind all of the recipes on this food blog.

Happy Honey Kitchen started as a creative outlet to share my joy and passion for cooking. HHK is a space for (mostly) Quick, Healthy-ish, Always Delish recipes for busy home cooks. Plus, cocktails for happy hour!

My goal is to inspire creativity and happiness in your kitchen with recipes that fuel your body and mind.

    A Little About Me...

I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I currently live in Sugar Land (a suburb of Houston) with my husband, JJ, and our fur baby, Donnie.

As a teenager, I started cooking to help my parents get dinner on the table after work. Soon after, I discovered that I love cooking rather than it being a chore. The kitchen became my happy place.

In college, at Texas Tech University, I studied restaurant management and took wine and culinary classes with hopes of one day being in the food and beverage industry.

My goals took another form and I became a teacher, teaching preschool though 4th grade. After teaching for 10 years, I realized I had more dreams to pursue, so I packed up my classroom and headed home to share recipes!

More About Angela & the Blog

How did you come up with the name?

When I was in the process of switching careers, I was nervous about the big change. My husbands nickname for me is "honeybee", so he said "I want you to be a happy honey with whatever you do". The name felt right and Happy Honey Kitchen was formed.

What recipe do you recommend for someone cooking for a date?

Personally, I like cooking seafood for a date because it's a light meal. My favorite date night recipes are Chilean sea bass with a side of green beans or a decedent sherry cream sauce with lobster ravioli. Good luck on your date!

What recipe do you recommend for a grab and go breakfast?

When I think of a quick breakfast, I want something that is portable so I can get ready or hop in my car while eating. My protein overnight oats are made in a mason jar so they are perfect to meal prep for busy mornings.

What cocktail recipe do you recommend for happy hour?

If you're making cocktails for a crowd, a pitcher of my frozen margaritas is always a great choice. You also can't go wrong with my fresh and fruity raspberry lemon cocktail. Cheers!

    Angela's Favorite Recipes
