How to Make Jalapeno Simple Syrup
Step 1: Add freshly sliced jalapenos, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup water to a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer on medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves.
Step 2: Remove the pan from the heat and steep jalapenos in the syrup for 10 minutes before straining into an airtight container or glass jar. Let the jalapeño syrup cool to room temperature before refrigerating.

Cocktails: I love to make cocktails with jalapeno simple syrup! Stir it into margaritas, mojitos, or a spicy twist on classic cocktails like the Moscow mule or gin and tonic.

Expert Tips
Adjust the spice level. Use fewer jalapeño slices or simmer the syrup for a shorter time to achieve a milder flavor. You can also remove the seeds before slicing the jalapeños, as they contain much of the heat.
Fresh is best. Fresh jalapeños give the best flavor and heat. Avoid using pickled or jarred jalapeños as they contain vinegar that can alter the taste.
