    About Me

    Welcome to Happy Honey Kitchen!

Angela is sitting in a restaurant booth holding a glass of red wine.

Hey, y'all! I'm Angela Lietzke, a Texas native and the founder of Happy Honey Kitchen. I'm also the recipe developer and cook behind all of the dishes on this food blog.

My goal is to make it easy for you to make and enjoy the mouthwatering flavors of Texas with simple, approachable Tex-Mex recipes.

From hearty dinners to flavorful sides and refreshing drinks, you'll find everything you need to create authentic, restaurant-quality Tex-Mex meals right in your own kitchen!

    A Little About Me...

I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, where Tex-Mex cuisine is practically its own love language. Now, I call Sugar Land (a suburb of Houston) home, where I live with my husband, JJ, and our fur baby, Donnie.

My love for cooking started as a teenager, helping my parents get dinner on the table. What started as a chore quickly became my passion, and before long, the kitchen became my happy place.

I've spent years perfecting Tex-Mex dishes inspired by my Texas roots, travels, and favorite Mexican restaurants.

I studied restaurant management at Texas Tech University, taking culinary and wine classes with dreams of working in the food industry.

After a decade as an elementary school teacher, I traded my classroom for the kitchen to teach others how to cook!

Happy Honey Kitchen started as a creative outlet and has grown into a go-to destination for easy, approachable Tex-Mex recipes!
