    About Me

Angela cooking in the kitchen with her husband.

Howdy! I'm Angela Lietzke, a Texas native and the founder of Happy Honey Kitchen.
I'm the recipe developer and cook behind every recipe you'll find here.

At Happy Honey Kitchen, my goal is simple: to help you cook delicious meals with confidence and actually enjoy it. I share easy Tex-Mex food and Texas recipes that are big on flavor, simple to make, and designed for real life.

Every recipe on this site is developed, tested, and refined in my own kitchen to ensure it's reliable, approachable, and worth making again.

    My Background

I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Now I live in Sugar Land (just outside of Houston) with my husband, JJ, where I continue to cook, create, and share the flavors I grew up loving.

My time living across Texas, and especially near Houston's incredibly diverse food scene, has shaped my approach to cooking. My recipes are inspired by my Texas roots, favorite restaurants, and travels.

My love for cooking started early, helping my parents get dinner on the table as a teenager. What began as a chore quickly turned into a passion, and before long, the kitchen became my favorite place to be.

I went on to study restaurant management at Texas Tech University, where I took culinary and wine courses and built a strong foundation in food, flavor, and kitchen technique.

After spending 10 years as an elementary school teacher, I decided to trade my classroom for the kitchen, combining my love of teaching with my passion for cooking. Today, I use that experience to break down recipes in a way that's clear, approachable, and easy to follow.
