Simple and Quick Berry Compote
Breakfast, brunch, or dessert - you can use this compote on just about anything to add delicious sweetness. I like to top my pancakes with this compote instead of using plain syrup.

Ingredients
8
ounce
strawberries
chopped into medium-sized pieces
4
ounce
raspberries
whole
3
Tablespoons
maple syrup
Instructions
Add water, non-stick cooking spray, or butter to the bottom of a small saucepot to prevent the berries from sticking.
Heat saucepot to medium-high heat. Add the raspberries and chopped strawberries to the pot and cook stirring frequently. About 5 minutes.
When the berries begin to release some liquids, add maple syrup.
Simmer, stirring frequently for about 10 minutes longer until the compote looks like a jam-like sauce.
Notes
This compote would also be great with blackberries and blueberries!
This recipe yields about ½ cup of compote.
