Learn how to make rosemary simple syrup with just three ingredients! This homemade syrup brings fresh, piney flavor to your favorite cocktails, drinks, and desserts.
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the water, sugar, and rosemary sprigs, stirring occasionally as the mixture heats. Allow it to simmer on low heat for 3-5 minutes, or until the sugar has fully dissolved.
Remove the saucepan from heat, and let the rosemary steep in the syrup for 10 minutes. Strain out the rosemary and allow the syrup to cool completely. Once cooled, transfer it to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
Label and date the container to keep track of when it was made for freshness.
For a milder flavor, steep for a shorter time. For a stronger rosemary flavor, add a few extra sprigs or let it steep longer.
I do not suggest using dried rosemary - fresh is best!
