Ingredients

  • 2 ounces gin
  • 1 ½ ounces St Germain or any elderflower liqueur
  • ½ ounce lemon juice
  • 6 raspberries
  • ice cubes

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients (except ice) in a cocktail shaker.
  • Using a muddler, crush the raspberries until they are broken up, or macerated.
  • Add 2-3 ice cubes. Put the top on the cocktail shaker and shake for 20-30 seconds until well combined and chilled.
  • Using a fine mesh strainer, strain drink directly into a cocktail glass to remove pulp or seeds. Garnish with raspberries or lemon wedge.

Notes

  • The muddled raspberries get stuck in the cocktail strainer, so I take the lid off and use a fine mesh strainer to strain the liquid into a glass.
  • If you don't have a muddler, you can crush, or smash, the raspberries with a fork or wooden spoon.
  • Optional: Top the drink with a splash of soda water, tonic water, or prosecco.
